Scientists Find Special Chemical on Moon
February 5, 2026 - Scientists found something important. They found a special chemical on a moon.
What is Europa?
Europa is a moon. It goes around Jupiter. Jupiter is a very big planet.
Europa has ice on top. Under the ice, there is water. A lot of water!
What did they find?
Scientists found ammonia on Europa. Ammonia is a chemical. It is important for life.
On Earth, living things need ammonia. Maybe Europa can have life too!
How did they find it?
A space ship called Galileo took pictures. It flew near Jupiter many years ago.
Scientists looked at the old pictures again. They saw ammonia on Europa’s ice.
Why is this exciting?
Life needs certain things: - Water ✓ (Europa has water) - Chemicals like ammonia ✓ (Europa has ammonia)
This is good news for finding life in space!
What happens next?
A new space ship is coming. It is called Europa Clipper. It will visit Europa in 2030.
